The Morning Rose
By Daniel Ridgway Knight
1893

I wish you all could see this painting close up. I saw it last week in Louisville's own Speed Art Museum and the serenity and beauty it captures amazes me. I've always loved art but never realized how much until this year. i'm learning to appriciate it in a new way and look at in from my perspective. If you've never looked at art before, try it! You could learn more than you would ever imagine!

I just wrote a pretty sweet poem and thought I would share it....

There Will Come Soft Rains

Inch after inch and hour after hour

I smell the sweet scent of the rain

that floods the Earth's surface.

Puddles of water begin to appear

on the shower stained roads

splashing onto the cars that pass by.

Trickling streams soon reside

in the crevices along soaked highways

where passengers stare through water beaded windows.

A river then forms

drenching all the life around it--

cleaning the dirt of this world.

And here I am

staring up at the gray sky

eyes shut tight and mouth open wide

trying to grasp a taste of cleanliness.

Here I am sitting at my computer knowing that a team of people from my church are in Arequipa, Peru at this moment. I don't exactly know how to feel except kind of like I'm missing out of something. My life would be so different right now if I was visiting the place I went to and poured out my heart a year ago. I only wish/pray that God would give me that kind of passion for people in my everyday life....

See YOU at the Pole

Tommorrow (Wednesday) thousands of kids around the nation will gather around their school's flag poles to pray for our nation, the safety of their school and their administrators. I will be one of the thousand. If you see this before Wednesday I ask you to pray for the kids that will come to the poel with me tommorrow. You can also pray for my school , a school that desperately needs Jesus Christ to flood it with His love. I am unsure of how many will come to our pole tommorrow, and right now I'm doubting if we will get more than 5 or 10, but I am praying that God will surprise me. This is a day of opprotunity and unity between those who really stand out for Jesus Christ in a public school. I will let you know how it goes and what God surprises me with.
Also, pray for me: I am leading this "see you at the pole" tommorrow, and am not very prepared for it. As most of you know I have a heart for people, especially those who are my peers. I am excited for such a great opprotunity to have Christ shine through me.

I discovered the sole reason as to why I hate school--it stresses me out. The stress is in my entire body--from the pit of my stomach to my heavy(very tired) eyelids. I'm sorry to be a downer..that's just the way i'm feeling.
